this is the first time I joined datdriven. I would like to confirm the deadline

the time on https://www.drivendata.org/competitions/63/genetic-engineering-attribution/page/165/#overview was given without dates?

I am interested in the innovation track and I need to know how much time I will be given to write the papers, etc

Great to hear you’re interested in the Innovation Track! Here’s the timeline:

  • Oct. 19, 2020, 11:59 p.m. UTC: Submissions close for the Prediction Track. Top teams and runners-up invited to submit their code for review. Teams that beat the BLAST benchmark informed that they qualify for the Innovation Track and invited to submit reports.
  • Nov. 01, 2020, 11:59 p.m. UTC: Submissions close for the Innovation Track. Deadline for code submission. (This is specified on the Innovation Track page)

So you’ll have ~2 weeks between receiving confirmation that you qualify for the Innovation Track and the deadline for report submission. That said, if you’re fairly confident you’ve beaten the benchmark (75.6% on the private leaderboard), I’d encourage you to start preparing before then.
