I’m on a mission to tackle the Pale Blue Dot Challenge and create a powerful visualization that helps address global issues like hunger, water access, or climate action. But I can’t do it alone! I’m searching for a passionate team member to join me in processing and visualizing the massive datasets at our disposal.

DEADLINE: 25/01/24

What you’ll be doing:

  • Data wrangling: Diving into the treasure trove of Earth observation data, cleaning, organizing, and preparing it for analysis.
  • Exploratory data analysis: Uncovering hidden patterns and insights within the data, using statistical techniques and visualizations.
  • Visualization magic: Transforming the data into compelling and informative visuals that tell a story and spark action. Think interactive maps, dynamic charts, or even immersive experiences!
  • Collaboration is key: Working hand-in-hand with me to brainstorm ideas, define our goals, and iterate on our visualization design.

What you bring to the table:

  • Proficiency in data processing tools: Python pandas, NumPy, SQL, or similar libraries are your playground.
  • Visualization chops: You know how to make data sing with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
  • A curious mind and a passion for problem-solving: You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and dive deep into complex data.
  • Excellent communication skills: You can clearly explain your findings and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Bonus points: Experience with Earth observation data, knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals, and a love for our pale blue dot are definitely welcome!
