In the competition rules it states that external data is now allowed. Now my question is: Are pretrained models then even allowed? They could be trained on external data right?

Correction: In the competition rules it states that external data is NOT allowed. Therefore I ask if pretrained models are allowed.

@hjdeheer Great question! Sorry this was not clearer. We’ve added language to the problem description to address this explicitly, and will issue an announcement as well:
Participants can use pre-trained computer vision models as long as they were 1) available freely and openly in that form at the start of the competition and 2) not trained on any data associated with the ground truth data for this challenge.
