Can any one clarify if train labels are provided in the dataset?
Through below statement, whale ID does not seem to signify labels…

You can think of the whale IDs as the labels since images with the same whale ID will be treated as a match in scoring.
For the purposes of this competition, a given image will have one whale ID, and only considered a match with other images that have the same whale ID.
In real life, an individual beluga may be photographed at different times in its lifetime, and due to changes in its appearance can be assigned a different ID in different periods. If it helps, feel free to disregard this background information for the purposes of the competition.
