The team asked me to pay $1,303 per institution annually, but I specified in my application that I am working alone and that I am not affiliated with any institution. I have not been affiliated with any AI research institution since 31 December 2025, and I am not a student. I am just taking a break and trying to work on some interesting competitions. I understand the data is classified, but I specified that I would be working alone. Could someone from the Driven Data team please explain why I was asked to pay for the licence?
Hi @pathfinder,
As stated in the data access instructions, SNOMED CT is not available for free everywhere, and we are unable to provide free access as part of this benchmark. Please reach out to the SNOMED benchmark organizers at the email address specified at the bottom of the page if you believe you should be able to access SNOMED for free.
Best,
Chris
Hi @pathfinder ,
Thank you for letting us know, and I’m sorry for any inconvenience. As mentioned, SNOMED CT requires a license, which may incur a cost if you are not located in one of the 52 member countries. However, we understand there might have been some confusion on our part, and we’re happy to assist you further.
Please send us an email at benchmark@snomed.org, and we will be glad to help you from there.
To clarify for others reading this message, if you do not have a license for SNOMED CT already and are applying to SNOMED International for one in order to participate in the benchmark, please add that you are applying for the benchmark only for us to process quicker.
