Hi, First of all I want to say this competition looks super interesting, and I wanted to give it a try, but I realize the only possibilities for the literate programming submission is with Python and R, my question it’s basically what is the reason for that? Julia have the same capabilities and good tools for literate programming reproducibility like Pluto.jl
Hello! Thanks for your interest and engagement in the competition!
Yes, we are requiring that submissions be written in Python or R even though there are other great languages and tools that could be used for this task. The reason is that the CDC team generally works in Python and R. When we design competitions and place technical constraints on solutions that people submit, we do so because we want the winning solutions from a competition to be able to be put into production or otherwise inform the day-to-day work of our partner team.
