Team merges and the submission quota

A question about how team merges interact with the submission limit.

  1. If two existing teams merge, what happens to the submissions each team has already used? Are they added together against the merged team’s allowance, or does the merged team keep the higher of the two remaining allowances?
  2. Is there a deadline after which merges are no longer accepted?
  3. While two teams are still separate, what is the rule on sharing findings between them privately? Does anything shared have to be posted publicly on the forum?

  1. If two existing teams merge, the individual users’ quotas remain active even as a part of the team. So the same usage, limits, etc carry over per individual user on a weekly basis, even post-merge. If two participants are members of a team, then that team has a max of 3 + 3 = 6 submissions per week assuming each participant submits 3 times.
  2. Team formation is allowed until the end of the competition
  3. Private sharing outside of teams is not allowed, as per the rules.
