Is DINOv3 allowed to use?

Hey,

I want to confirm regarding the usage of the foundation models, especially DINOv3. Unlike DINOv2, which has Apache 2.0 license, DINOv3 has their own license. Even though they are allowing it to use freely, one needs to sign up to get the trained model weights. Is it okay to use the DINOv3 models and similar models?

Thanks.

Hi @hariprasanth_sm ,

Winning solutions need to be made available under the MIT License in order to be eligible for recognition and prize money, but it seems that any works made using a DINOv3 model need to be licensed under the DINOv3 Agreement. There are a few differences between the two, so I don’t think DINOv3 models would be eligible for prizes here.

Thanks!
