Abstract format? Figures?

Are we allowed to include figures in the abstract?
Current instructions give guidance on text size, margins, etc. But can we include a figure in the abstract or treat it as a typical journal/conference paper abstract with only text?

You are welcome to include a figure, provided that you adhere to all of the other abstract requirements.

Can references (citing previous work) be included in the abstract outside the one-page limit (i.e. only have references on the 2nd page)?

Abstracts generally do not need to contain references. We are not expecting literature review or references in the abstract, so please limit your abstract to one page per the requirements.
