# Where do you draw the line?

I’m still curious where you draw the line between a correction to an existing fault and a new fault.
Like, if a mapped USGS/INGENIOUS fault appears to continue beyond its existing endpoint, can that previously unmapped continuation be included in the new-fault labels? Come to think of it, could a newly mapped splay or parallel strand within the same fault zone count too, or does that branch off into a different category?
Basically, I’m wondering whether “new fault” means a geologically separate structure, or whether it can also include newly mapped geometry of an existing fault system.

@moongrega Great question! For the purposes of this competition, “new fault” means “any fault pixel not already captured by USGS/INGENIOUS” and can include newly mapped geometry of an existing fault system.
